On-Site Horse Show Veterinary Services

We don't wait at the clinic for your horse to come back wrong. We go where you go.

Mid-South Equine travels to major shows across the country, providing veterinary support for our clients from the time the trailers unload until the last class is called. When something surfaces at 5 a.m. on finals morning, you shouldn't be scanning a show program for a stranger's phone number. You should be calling the veterinarian who is already on the grounds, who has your horse's MRI on file, and who knows which hock was managed and when.

See our Facebook page to find out where we'll be next!

Pre-class soundness checks. A quick set of eyes in the warm-up pen before a class that matters.

Therapeutic joint injections and treatment, administered in accordance with AQHA and NSBA medication rules and withdrawal times.

Emergency care — colic, lacerations, acute lameness, tying up, respiratory issues. The problems that don't schedule themselves.

Digital radiography and ultrasound, on-site. We can image a suspect limb without loading and hauling somewhere.

Coordination with your farrier and trainer, so shoeing changes and training decisions are made with the medical picture in front of everyone.

Post-class monitoring and recovery through a long week of hauling, showing, and standing in a stall.

What We Handle On the Grounds

Show weeks compress every decision. A horse that's a hair off Wednesday morning has a class Thursday afternoon, and the call about whether to treat — and how — has to be made fast and made right.A veterinarian meeting your horse cold in a barn aisle is working from a two-minute history. A veterinarian who diagnosed the original injury, read the standing MRI, and has watched this horse go for three seasons is working from everything. That difference shows up in the score and it shows up six months later in whether the horse is still sound. There's also the part nobody puts on a website: knowing the medication rules cold, documenting correctly, and telling you honestly when the answer is that the horse doesn't go. We'd rather cost you a class than a career.

Why It Matters Who's Standing There

Contact us before the show — two weeks out is ideal — so we can plan coverage and know you'll be there. Established clients receive priority.
