We are the only clinic within two hours of Tioga offering standing MRI, traditional MRI, and equine bone scan. Dr. Alli Salinger, DVM, MS, DACVS-LA
is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Large Animal). She completed a three-year large animal surgical residency and a Master of Science at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, following an internship at Pioneer Equine Hospital in California, and has published scientific work on carpal fracture fixation and equine skeletal development.

Fracture Repair
Internal fixation using screws and plates for repairable fractures, including condylar fractures, sesamoid fractures, splint bone fractures, and select long bone injuries.
Fractures are emergencies.

How a horse is stabilized and hauled materially affects whether the fracture stays repairable, and we'd rather advise you on the phone than have you arrive with a worse injury than you left with.

Time-sensitive corrective surgery in foals, including periosteal transection and transphyseal bridging.The window closes as growth plates mature. Fetlock corrections must happen within the first few months of life; carpal and hock corrections allow somewhat longer. If you're looking at a crooked-legged foal, call early. Waiting to see whether it straightens on its own is the most common reason a correctable deformity becomes permanent.
Anesthesia & Patient Safety
Every surgical patient receives a pre-anesthetic evaluation and bloodwork.
General anesthesia is maintained with inhalant gas, with continuous monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure, oxygenation, and anesthetic depth by a team member whose only job is the patient's stability. Recovery takes place in a padded stall, with assisted recovery when the case calls for it.Anesthetic risk in horses is real and we don't minimize it.
